Alan Paine was established over 110 years ago by William Paine in the market town of Goldalming in Surrey. From humble beginnings William Paine first taught himself to knit on some knitting machines he found in a warehouse. Specialising in Knitwear Alan Paine has now expanded into a leading brand in country clothing.

Arguably pioneering the humble cable knit jumper. Alan Paine has become a global brand with a reputation for crafting good quality, long lasting country clothing. Carving itself a specialist niche in the clothing market by customising cricket team sweaters with club colours the brand has gone from strength to strength. Utilising traditional fabrics such as tweed, moleskin and waxed cotton, Alan Paine’s selection of clothing ranges from everyday workwear to ‘best in the field’ clothing for the more formal occasion.

Tweed

Tweed is a classic country garment, whether your gearing for a big shoot or require good quality countrywear for day to day.

In mens tweed we stock the Alan Paine Combrook and Rutland Tweeds. Fully waterproof and featuring a stunning array of clever features. In the Combrook we have Elm tweed across caps breeks, coats and shooting waistcoats. For the Rutland we stock Lichen tweed, A smart large checked tweed.

For ladies we stock the Alan Paine Combrook Heath tweed. A gorgeous tweed that works wonderfully by itself or pairs well with other tweeds. The mid thigh coat with its bold colours is a particular favourite of ours. In brief we think it looks smart is comfortable to wear. The gold buttons can be swapped out for green horn for personal preference.
